Daniel Changchup Shönnu Lucio, was born in Brasil and raised between his native Minas Gerais and San Francisco, California. Daniel’s signature gift is to seamlessly integrate intuitive and studied approaches of the healing arts. he possesses a distinctive ability to listen deeply and create a soothing atmosphere where clients feel at-ease, encouraging self-acceptance and growth. Daniel began his study of self-actualization at the age of 17, traveling alone to Havana to study Afro-Cuban music and dance at the Instituto Superior de Arte-- Cuba’s National Conservatory.
Daniel enrolled at Naropa University in 2004, a Buddhist-inspired institute in Colorado founded by luminous Tibetan teacher, Chögyam Trungpa. at Naropa, Daniel deepened his study of meditation and the contemplative arts through Zen and Shambhala Buddhism. he also had his first experience with somatic intelligence through the work of Body-Mind Centering® while there, experiencing first-hand the life-changing and healing power of an integrated somatic awareness. he was inspired to share this realization through his work.
Daniel completed a BA in Buddhist Studies at Naropa. his time there was also a jumping-off point for a continued self-study of various modalities including Non-Violent Communication, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, martial arts, energywork, feng shui, Permaculture, and Tibetan maitri practice. two years after Naropa, Daniel completed his massage certification at the San Francisco School of Massage at the head of his class. it was at this point that he felt ready to begin a healing practice of his own.
in 2010,  Daniel founded the Radiant: Massage Therapy and Integrative Wellness in Brooklyn, New York. the studio’s focus was on offering a unique blend of deep-tissue, trigger-point massage, and energywork in a holistic framework. in 2013, the studio expanded to include another location in Manhattan. as Daniel’s experience expanded, so did the Radiant. he completed certifications in Structural Integration and Aromatherapy, and began to offer Wellness Consulting to clients who asked for additional support in achieving their aspirations for greater health. in 2015, Daniel introduced Mindfulness-Massage™ to the public. this new modality combines guided mindfulness practice, therapeutic massage, and shamanic energywork into one healing art.
Daniel feels his ability to transmute positivity, healing, radiance, and joy is intimately linked to his own realization. he seeks to refine and expand his knowledge in service of self and other. he sees his work at the Radiant as a vocation: an opportunity to bring healing into others' lives on a physical and energetic level, and to help them to reconnect with their inherent strength and radiance.
when not in the studio, Daniel enjoys weight-lifting, international travel, video games, and film. a former musician and actor, he also enjoys playing the guitar, camping, and connecting with nature.
